Artisan Ice Cream Flavors From Oaxaca

POSTED ON AUGUST 16, 2017

We fell in love with the popular artisan ice cream flavors from Oaxaca. Ice cream is locally made and sold all over the state. Ice cream prices range from $1 to $2 dollars a cup. They are either milk-based or water-based, both equally delicious and refreshing.

In Oaxaca city, our favorite ice cream was the ones sold outside the Basilica de la Soledad. We probably had an ice cream a day everyday we were Oaxaca! Here are some of our favorite flavors.

Leche Quemada

A popular flavor is burnt milk. As weird as it sounds, it is pretty amazing!

Beso Oaxaqueno

A combination of coconut, pineapple, carrots and pecans.

Encanto Oaxaqueno

Strawberry, apple, guava and mango.

Beso de Angel

Pecans, peanuts, cherry and raisins.

Nuez

Rosy’s favorite ice cream flavor was pecan. So creamy and refreshing!

Guanabana

This exotic flavor of soursop, a green prickly fruit, is amazing!

Mamey

Tropical flavor of the mamey sapote.

Petalos de Rosa

Rose petal flavor was delicious.

Pina Colada

Another tropical flavor that we enjoyed was pina colada.

Crema de Mezcal

Mezcal flavors are popular and you can find different cream flavors.
