NEW YORK – 6 Great Restaurants We Dined At While In New York City

6 Restaurants We Dined At While In New York City

POSTED JUNE 20, 2017

We were blown away by the amazing flavors and variety of food that New York City has to offer. Food is one of our passions and we were 100 percent satisfied with every restaurant we visited. If a place serves fresh, flavorful dishes and receives many rating stars, we are bound to try them out and be the food critics ourselves. We want to find out what all the ravings are about.

Gray’s Papaya

If you’ve ever seen the 1997 movie, “Fools Rush In” starring Salma Hayek and Matthew Perry, then you’ll get the reference to this eatery. In the movie, Salma asks Matthew to send her a hotdog from this place. And how can someone not crave these high quality and yummy hot dogs? They’re very affordable and make a great midnight snack or better yet, a great treat as you stroll through Central Park. You be the judge and thank us later when you devour these hot dogs.

Famous Joe’s Pizza

We ventured off to Greenwich to try out this pizza place. The amount of people waiting to order pizza before noon already gave us a good sign regarding the quality of the pizza. The wait was well worth it as we devoured the most delicious pizza slices ever! Definitely one of the best pizza places in New York City. And this place was also featured in the movie, “Spiderman.”

Cake Boss Cafe

After an amazing lunch, we stomped across this TLC famous cafe for dessert and ended up picking up cheesecake and pastries. The freshness of the pastries is apparent with every bite and we were happy to find out that these were inexpensive. If you’re a fan of the show, you have to stop by and try it for yourself.

Caffe Napoli

Little Italy has so many restaurant options to choose from. Caffe Napoli is one of the great restaurants we visited. The fresh Italian bread, combined with our main pasta dishes and a bottle of red wine made our taste buds very happy. The food is homemade and the service is excellent. We chose to sit on the outside tables to dine and were able to enjoy the beautiful night. This is a great romantic place to dine!

Da Gennaro

Another Italian restaurant located on Mulberry Street that we had the pleasure of enjoying was from Da Gennaro. They did a wonderful job setting a romantic evening night out by having candlelit dining, attentive staff, and serving their tastiest dishes. They had the most mouth watering bruschetta and each pasta dish came out very flavorful.

Hard Rock Cafe

The convenience of this restaurant off of Times Square attracted us to enter. We’re familiar with their drinks and some of their food selections and this location did not disappoint. We stopped here for drinks before catching a Broadway show. The drinks were perfectly made and the ambiance was fun and energetic.

Aside from the restaurants mentioned above, we tried New York’s famous fresh bagels and we finally understood why locals and New York natives brag about their bagels. They are soft, puffy, and thick-crusted. These bagels are great for sandwiches or just spreading cream cheese inside of them. They are the best and we highly recommend them to you. You’ll find them baked fresh every morning in every bakery shop.

We also suggest you try the street food carts. Many people are apprehensive when it comes to trying out street food but as long as you do your research and observe the conditions of the trucks, you should be fine. We tried the famous Halal Guys cart food and we absolutely enjoyed every bite of our food. We recommend their lamb and chicken combo over rice with white sauce. It’s so cheap and delicious. And can be a bit spicy if you add too much of their red hot sauce.
