NEW YORK – Our Experience Using New York City’s Transportation

Our Experience Using New York City’s Transportation

POSTED ON JUNE 22, 2017

When you’re exploring New York City, you can’t help but try different forms of transportation besides good ol’ walking. It can be tiresome on the soles getting from point A to point B if you’re not used to the commute.

Since you’re out here in New York City to visit as many attractions as possible in the little time that you’re here, why not try something different and live like a New Yorker. Use the subway, ride in a yellow taxicab, or take a ferry,

If you’re traveling on a budget, we suggest purchasing a MetroCard which is $30 and it is good for a week use for the subway with unlimited rides. This is very helpful because you don’t have to keep loading the card after each use.

We flew into John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) and could’ve saved some money had we known that the train route traveled from the airport to our hotel in Queensborough. Instead, we used a taxicab and joined the evening long commute in traffic through the busy streets. It’s an experience we won’t forget. Be sure you grab a train map or download a copy of the map off the internet.

With our CityPass booklet, we got a ferry ride on the Hudson River. We sailed by some of New York City’s famous attractions. These attractions included: the World Trade Center, the Statue of Liberty, the Queensboro Bridge, and the Brooklyn Bridge.
